Mia, Fox Chapel High School Class of 2018 | Schenley Plaza, Phipps Conservatory | Pittsburgh Senior

This session is certainly one of my most favorites to date. It was the perfect combination of location, light and soul. Having just met Mia, she really let her personality come through and that's something that not everybody is comfortable doing the minute the lens comes out. I think her years in musical and theater have helped her not to shy away from the limelight. I'm so pleased with how every one of these photos turned out and the location is one that I have used many times. What I love is that each new person I photograph brings something different and unique to the table. I'm learning not to be afraid to reuse locations because I love to see how each new person interacts with the surroundings differently. That is a big part of the direction I am trying to take in my portrait sessions. I really want to encourage people not to worry so much about getting the "perfect" shot and just show up feeling free and willing to let your guard down just a little. I promise you won't be sorry with the outcome!
