“The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”
I've long been fascinated with the lives of gypsies. The very thought of living a life of constant travel might sound awful to some folks, but to me, there is something appealing about it. I know in recent years our culture has glamorized the gypsy way of life and for those that actually live it, see it as a struggle; to never have some place they call home, is to never have roots too deep in one place. There has to be a feeling of freedom that comes a long with that. To know that if you ever get tired of one place, there you go, already moving on to the next destination. There is something to be said about those who find contentment in settling down, but my heart yearns for the places I have yet to see. I just can't quiet that voice inside me that says, keep exploring, keep searching, keep discovering all that this world has to offer. God created such an amazing planet, and inside it, some amazing humans and cultures exist; what kind of people would we be if we didn't at least try to experience life outside our little "bubble."
Alas, this is where the inspiration for this shoot came from. Considering my home decor is "gypsy" inspired, it made complete sense to do this for our first group shoot because I already had all the components to create the scene I imagined. Along with the help of my friend Angela of The Turquoise Forest who is always willing to lend her jewels to showcase, we created a lovely traveling gypsy scene at our secret little spot "The Fountain of Youth."

Can I just say how much I love these ladies! They have so much fun together and they really let me do my thing when it comes to my ideas. They are open and willing and not afraid to be themselves. I can't wait for our next group shoot!
It's pretty clear how much I enjoyed doing this photo shoot and I even got to try my hand at making a flower crown! Bri is pictured wearing the crown in many of the photos and I think I did a decent job considering this was my first attempt! Needless to say I am hooked. Going forward I will be offering custom hand made flower crowns as an optional add on to your senior session! Class of 2018, contact me today to book your session and get your spot secured! I will be announcing on instagram the days I have left so stay tuned for that!
