Okay, so I feel like I say this about every session. but Korry's was seriously one of my favorites. Mostly because I love this chicks demeanor, personality, style and heart. She is like super cool without even trying and really down to earth. She's also smart AND beautiful. That part is really just the icing on the cake, so to speak. There is so much more than looks when I talk about being "beautiful" and I preach this ALL the time. Yes, I can agree that we all want to look AND feel beautiful but that feeling of beauty really has to come from a place within ourselves. We must realize that to know we are beautiful cannot come from what others think or say or how THEY make us feel, it comes from knowing our Creator made us just the way we are for a reason. I don't want to get preachy, but I think Korry knows her value and worth. She doesn't seem the type to worry about what others think too much. Her validation comes from a place not of this world. I hope she and other young women know this to be true, because it is so important to love ourselves so we can in turn love others well. I believe that's how we can change the world.
Lawrenceville is one of my favorite Pittsburgh neighborhoods. I won't get into all the details, but just looking through these photos you will see why. Color is the second most thing I'm addicted to besides flowers (as described here) and Lawrenceville is filled with lovely vibrant street art and murals around every corner. There's such an interesting mix of old and modern touches. Quite a feast for the eyes. So naturally it was a perfect spot for Korry's session. She wanted grunge, and I think we found it. Of course no photo-shoot with yours truly is complete without some hint of nature thrown in. So it was obvious when we found a trail that led down to the river, we just had to follow it. Korry was all for going in the river. I mean, even I had my doubts about that. I am so glad she did because I captured one of my favorite photos to date. The more you are open to adventures, the more amazing your pictures will be!
Murals featured in these photos above are by artist Jeremy M. Raymer,
When I chose Korry as well as the others to be part of the Model Team, I saw something in them that represented my motto "When you shine on the inside, it shows on the outside". I hope I can find as many wonderful young ladies to join the CLASS OF 2018 Model Team. I will be revealing all the details of how you can be a part of this in the next week or so. There will be group shoots, volunteer opportunities and get-togethers but there will also be something else...something HUGE that only model team members are eligible to take part in, so please stay tuned for that!
